Colombian President Says US Bombed Cocaine Facility in Venezuela’s Maracaibo Port

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said the United States carried out a strike targeting a cocaine production facility in the port of Maracaibo in western Venezuela.

In a post on X, following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of the first American ground strike on the Venezuelan coast without specifying its location, Petro wrote: “We know that Trump bombed a facility in Maracaibo, and we fear they are mixing coca paste there to produce cocaine.”

There has been no immediate official comment from Venezuelan authorities regarding Petro’s statement.
