The United Arab Emirates announced the end of its remaining military mission in Yemen by withdrawing counter-terrorism units, in a move described as unexpected.
Abu Dhabi said the decision was voluntary and aimed at ensuring the safety of its forces amid recent security developments.
The announcement comes amid tensions with the Yemeni government and the Presidential Leadership Council, signaling a shift in the UAE’s role within the Arab coalition and potentially opening a new phase in Yemen’s political and military balance.
