The Syrian Democratic Forces announced the withdrawal of their fighters from the Ashrafiyeh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods in Aleppo after fierce clashes with the Syrian army that left 21 civilians dead and displaced 155,000 people.
SDF commander Mazloum Abdi said the agreement reached includes a ceasefire and the secure evacuation of civilians and fighters.
State-run SANA news agency confirmed the arrival of the last buses to areas under self-administration control.
The fighting erupted after negotiations failed over merging self-rule institutions into Syria’s national state structure.
