Japanese voters headed to polling stations on Sunday to cast their ballots in the parliamentary elections, despite heavy snowstorms affecting large parts of the country.
Severe weather conditions disrupted dozens of train and ferry lines, leading to the cancellation of several flights and raising concerns about lower voter turnout.
The Ministry of Transport confirmed the suspension of 37 railway lines and 58 ferry routes, while authorities took exceptional measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process.
