The United Arab Emirates announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell and the arrest of its members, citing their involvement in covert activities aimed at undermining national unity and destabilizing the country.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), investigations revealed that the group was linked to what it described as Iran’s “Wilayat al-Faqih,” and that its members adopted extremist ideologies posing a threat to internal security.
Preliminary findings indicated that the cell carried out recruitment and indoctrination efforts through secret meetings, as part of a coordinated plan with external entities aimed at accessing sensitive positions داخل the country.
Authorities also said the group held meetings both داخل and outside the UAE with suspicious organizations, attempting to spread misleading ideas among Emirati youth and recruit them for foreign allegiances.
The activities reportedly included incitement against state policies, efforts to damage the country’s image, and the collection and transfer of funds through unofficial channels to external entities.
