Shakira Teases New Official 2026 World Cup Song Titled “Day Day”

Colombian pop star Shakira hinted on Thursday at a new official song for the upcoming World Cup, set to take place next summer in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, by sharing a short video clip of the track.

In the 67-second video, Shakira appears on the pitch of the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, where she recently performed a free concert on Copacabana Beach in front of a crowd of more than two million people.

Shakira, who previously delivered the famous 2010 World Cup anthem “Waka Waka,” announced that the new song is titled “Day Day,” revealing it through a post on Instagram.

The video also shows her performing parts of the song in English alongside dancers wearing outfits representing various national teams, including the United States and Colombia, with the official 2026 World Cup ball “Trionda” featured.

The song was produced in collaboration with Nigerian artist Burna Boy and is scheduled for official release on May 14.

The clip, also shared by the FIFA World Cup account, ends with the message: “We are ready!”.
