French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Alexandria at the start of an African tour that includes Egypt, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received his French counterpart to participate in the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Francophone Senghor University in Borg El Arab.

The two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations and developments in the Middle East before Macron heads to Nairobi to attend the “Africa Forward” summit.

The tour will also include meetings with African leaders and African Union officials in Addis Ababa.
