The Iranian Football Federation confirmed the national team’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while calling on the host nations — particularly the United States — to guarantee easier visa procedures for players and technical staff members, including those who completed mandatory military service in the Revolutionary Guard.
Federation president Mehdi Taj said Tehran had submitted conditions related to security, visa facilitation, and respect for “Iranian culture and beliefs.”
Iran will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand, marking the country’s fourth consecutive and seventh overall appearance at the World Cup.
