French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Wednesday that the leaders of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates will participate in a session of the G7 Summit scheduled for Tuesday in Évian to discuss developments in the Middle East.
Speaking during a meeting with civil society representatives at the Élysée Palace, Macron said the discussions would focus on the regional conflict, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its direct impact on global economies amid soaring energy prices, as well as negotiations concerning Iran. He stressed the importance of seeking avenues for cooperation and coordination to address the ongoing challenges.
