Iranian media, citing the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that two vessels described as “violating regulations” were targeted while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

The announcement came shortly after Iran declared the closure of the strategic waterway following U.S. strikes on areas in the southern part of the country, escalating tensions in one of the world’s most critical energy shipping routes.
