The Azteca Stadium in Mexico City hosted the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring performances by major international artists, including Shakira, who performed the tournament’s official song before a crowd of more than 80,000 spectators.
The ceremony showcased musical and visual performances celebrating the cultural diversity of the host nations and the 48 participating teams.
The event marked the beginning of what is being described as the largest World Cup in history.
