Government data released on Saturday showed that the number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has risen to 710, including 149 deaths, as health authorities continue efforts to contain the outbreak.
According to an official field report, 21 new confirmed cases were recorded over the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 710 as of Friday.
The report stated that the death toll linked to the outbreak has reached 149, while medical teams and public health officials continue surveillance, contact tracing, and response operations aimed at limiting the spread of the virus.
Ebola is a highly dangerous viral disease that spreads through direct contact with bodily fluids of infected individuals or contaminated materials and can result in high fatality rates during outbreaks.
