Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that Ukrainian forces carried out overnight strikes targeting an oil facility in Russia’s Yaroslavl region and a chemical plant in the Tula region.
According to Zelenskyy, the Azot chemical plant plays an important role in the production of materials used for explosives in Russia. He said the attacks were aimed at weakening industrial and logistical capabilities supporting Russia’s military operations.
The Ukrainian president added that strikes were also conducted against Russian military logistics targets located in Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine.
Russian authorities did not immediately comment on the reported attacks or the extent of any damage.
