The Democratic Republic of the Congo announced late Sunday that the number of confirmed Ebola cases has risen to 1,274, including 360 deaths, as authorities continue efforts to contain the outbreak.
Last week, health officials said the United States is preparing to send doses of an experimental Ebola treatment to Africa, along with 2,500 diagnostic tests to help contain the current Bundibugyo strain outbreak.
The initiative, led by the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response through the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, aims to support response efforts in both the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.
