Algeria was eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after losing 2-0 to Switzerland in the Round of 32 on Friday at BC Place in Vancouver.
Breel Embolo opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Dan Ndoye doubled Switzerland’s advantage early in the second half.
Switzerland reached the knockout stage for the second consecutive World Cup, while Algeria matched its best-ever tournament performance by advancing beyond the group stage, as it previously did in 2014.
