Yemeni sources reported on Saturday that more than 70 Houthi fighters had been killed and dozens injured, mostly in airstrikes targeting military gatherings and vehicles in Taiz and Lahj over the preceding 48 hours.
The strikes reportedly concentrated on Hayfan and Wadi al-Dabab in Taiz, as well as Houthi positions in the Al-Maqatirah and Al-Mudaribah districts of Lahj.
Field sources said fighting between government forces and the Houthis continued in Al-Maqatirah, while the group was reportedly sending additional reinforcements to battlefronts in both governorates despite the airstrikes.
The reported casualty figures have not been independently verified.
