Ukraine’s capital Kyiv came under an air attack early Tuesday following the expiration of a three-day temporary truce between Russia and Ukraine.

Kyiv military administration chief Tymur Tkachenko said on Telegram that hostile drones were flying over the capital and urged residents to remain in safe locations until the air alert was lifted.

It marked the first time air raid sirens had sounded in Kyiv since May 8, according to media reports.

Regional authorities also instructed residents to stay in shelters, noting that air defense systems were operating in the area in response to the attack.

During the truce announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, both Ukraine and Russia exchanged accusations of carrying out attacks against civilians.
