The Iraqi government announced on Monday that September 21 will be the final deadline for armed factions to hand over their weapons to the state, coinciding with the completion of the International Coalition’s withdrawal from the country.

Baghdad said the measure is part of its agreement with Washington to conclude the coalition’s mission against ISIS, reaffirming efforts to place all weapons under state control and strengthen national security institutions.
