Eight people, including four children, were injured in a shooting late Saturday night in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, according to the New York Police Department.

Police said officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 10:37 p.m. local time, with emergency responders arriving quickly at the scene.

The victims include two men, two women, and four children aged 14, 12, 7, and 6.

All of the injured were taken to local hospitals. Authorities said seven victims are in stable condition, while a 21-year-old woman remains in critical condition. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
