Germany secured qualification for the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after coming from behind to defeat Ivory Coast 2-1 on Saturday in Group E action.
Ivory Coast took the lead through Franck Kessié in the 30th minute, but substitute Deniz Undav equalized in the 68th minute, just eight minutes after entering the match.
Undav then struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner in the fourth minute of added time to complete Germany’s comeback and seal all three points.
The victory lifted Germany to six points from two matches, guaranteeing qualification for the knockout stage and putting the team in a strong position to finish top of Group E, depending on the result between Ecuador and Curaçao.
