India Vows to Halt Water Flow to Pakistan from the Indus River

Indian Water Resources Minister C.R. Patil stated that India is working to ensure that “not a single drop of water” reaches Pakistan in the coming years following the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.

The move comes amid growing tensions between the two countries over the management of shared water resources.

The treaty, signed in 1960, has long been considered a cornerstone of cooperation between India and Pakistan. However, recent disputes have prompted New Delhi to review its commitments, raising concerns in Pakistan about the potential impact on agriculture and the economy.
