The Iran national football team has suffered a major setback ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Reports indicate that uncertainty had surrounded Iran’s participation in the tournament in recent months amid political tensions and questions over match arrangements.
The team also received a significant blow after one of its players suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, ruling him out of the upcoming World Cup and dealing a setback to the squad’s preparations and technical options.
