Israeli forces carried out a series of airstrikes across southern Lebanon on Wednesday, despite the announcement of a U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East, including the Lebanese front.
According to Lebanese media reports, Israeli warplanes targeted the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa near the city of Nabatieh and struck the eastern outskirts of the neighboring town of Kfartebnit. A separate drone strike reportedly hit the town of Ansariyeh in the Zahrani area.
The strikes come despite a relative decline in military activity following the announcement of the U.S.-Iran agreement earlier this week.
Security tensions, however, remain high along Lebanon’s southern border, with sporadic military actions continuing despite diplomatic efforts to stabilize the region.
Media reports indicate that previous Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon over recent days resulted in multiple casualties.
