Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that he expects a U.S. negotiating delegation to arrive in Moscow once Washington reaches an agreement with Iran regarding the conflict in the Middle East.

Putin said Russia expects contacts with the U.S. administration to resume after the active phase of the Iranian issue concludes, adding that Moscow is ready to continue negotiations and discuss all outstanding issues.

His remarks came in response to a question about U.S.-Russia relations after President Donald Trump urged Russia to reach an agreement with Ukraine.

Earlier, Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was performing well in the war, despite previously questioning Kyiv’s ability to secure victory.
