U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces are prepared to launch a “comprehensive and large-scale attack” at any moment if negotiations with Tehran fail, after announcing the postponement of a military strike that had been scheduled for Tuesday following contacts with Gulf leaders who requested more time for diplomacy.
Trump wrote on the “Truth Social” platform that the President of the United Arab Emirates, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and the Emir of Qatar asked him to delay the military strike due to the serious negotiations currently underway with Tehran.
He added: “I instructed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Caine that we will not launch the planned attack on Tuesday, but I also directed them to be ready for a comprehensive and large-scale attack on Iran at any moment if an acceptable agreement is not reached,” according to Sky News.
The American president had intensified his rhetoric in recent hours, stressing that “time is running out” for Iran and warning that “there will be nothing left of it” if it does not agree to a deal guaranteeing it will not obtain nuclear weapons.
