U.S. Strike on Suspected Drug-Smuggling Boat in Pacific Leaves One Dead

The U.S. military carried out a strike on a vessel suspected of drug smuggling in the eastern Pacific Ocean, killing one person and leaving two others alive, according to official statements.

The operation is part of a broader campaign launched by President Donald Trump’s administration against suspected drug-trafficking networks across Latin America.

According to available figures, the death toll from U.S. military strikes targeting suspected smuggling boats has risen to at least 208 people since the campaign against what Washington describes as “narco-terrorists” began in early September.

The United States has intensified maritime and aerial operations in the region as part of efforts to disrupt drug trafficking routes and dismantle criminal networks.
