The Director-General of the World Health Organization announced on Monday that 114 people, including 63 children, were killed in “senseless” strikes on a hospital in South Kordofan, Sudan, last Thursday, calling for a ceasefire.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a post on the X platform, citing the WHO’s Surveillance System for Attacks on Health Care, that “repeated strikes in Sudan’s South Kordofan state hit a kindergarten and targeted the nearby Kalogi Rural Hospital at least three times, resulting in the deaths of 114 people, including 63 children, and injuring 35 others.”
