A Syrian army soldier was killed in clashes with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which infiltrated toward army positions in Tal Maaz, east of Aleppo.

The Syrian army announced it had thwarted the infiltration, while the SDF continued targeting its positions and blocking roads in Aleppo, ignoring agreements with the Syrian government.

The escalation comes amid tense relations and the freezing of the Syrian government’s participation in meetings with the SDF in Paris.
