U.S. President Donald Trump said he expects the Abraham Accords to expand soon with Saudi Arabia joining the agreements, despite widespread regional anger over the Israeli occupation’s war on Gaza.

Trump added that “Saudi Arabia’s participation would encourage other nations to join,” arguing that peace between Arabs and the occupation would become “more realistic” once Riyadh signs on.

However, analysts note that the ongoing assault on Gaza and the rising number of martyrs remain major obstacles to any new normalization efforts in the region.
