The Israeli occupation launched a series of intense airstrikes targeting wide areas in southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa, claiming to strike sites affiliated with Hezbollah.

The bombardment hit the Aaqmta plain and the outskirts of Mount Rihan, as well as areas between Ansar and Zrariyeh in Nabatieh district, before extending to Ain El-Tineh and Mount Mashghara.

The escalation comes with the start of the new year, amid growing fears of a widening confrontation on the Lebanese front.
