Mediating States Announce Launch of Second Phase of Gaza Ceasefire with Technocratic Committee Formation

Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, acting as mediators, announced the commencement of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, including the formation of a Palestinian technocratic committee to manage the territory following the recent conflict.

The committee will be chaired by Ali Abdul Hamid Shaath, former Palestinian Deputy Minister of Planning, and will consist of 15 members tasked with improving the humanitarian situation and enhancing stability, in coordination with the Peace Council and international agencies overseeing reconstruction.

The three mediating states emphasized that the committee will handle daily governance and essential services in Gaza to ensure a smooth and effective transfer of authority.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Palestinian factions expressed full agreement with the arrangements and committed to fully supporting the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire.
