One person was killed, and six others were injured in a shooting inside the town hall of Chribska in northern Czech Republic, police reported Monday evening.

Authorities stated that the assailant was neutralized after police fired at him, resulting in his death, and confirmed that there was no further threat to residents.

The town is approximately 110 kilometers north of Prague. Local reports indicated that one of the injured was a police officer present at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine the attacker’s motives.
