Chilean authorities reported that wildfires sweeping through the southern regions of the country have killed 15 people and forced over 50,000 to flee their homes.
The fires are raging in coastal and agricultural areas, particularly in the regions of Ñuble and Biobío, about 500 kilometers from Santiago.
Officials warned that the death toll could rise as emergency teams reach more remote areas.
Hundreds of homes have been destroyed, while around 20 fires remain active amid strong winds and challenging firefighting conditions.
