Flooding caused by heavy rainfall in northern and western Syria has resulted in the deaths of three people, including a volunteer with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, and the displacement of hundreds of families from affected areas.
The state news agency SANA reported that the volunteer died during a rescue mission in the Latakia countryside, while two children were killed by severe flooding in the northern countryside of the province.
Authorities opened temporary shelters and launched rescue operations, as well as efforts to reopen roads inside displacement camps.
