Clashes erupted in the coastal countryside of Latakia in northwestern Syria, leaving at least four people dead.
The violence occurred near Jableh following reports that “Saraya al-Jawad,” described as linked to remnants of former President Bashar al-Assad’s ousted regime, attacked security forces.
State media confirmed the death of one security officer and three assailants, including a commander, as authorities continue to pursue members of the group, which they classify as “terrorists.”
