Brazilian police announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell that was planning attacks in Rio de Janeiro during local celebrations.

Security operations involving surveillance and coordinated raids led to the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of weapons and explosives, authorities said.

The operation is part of broader efforts to strengthen security ahead of the upcoming festive season.
