Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced on Tuesday that more than 14 million citizens have officially registered to volunteer in defense of the country amid the ongoing war with the United States and Israel.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said he is personally ready to “sacrifice his life and blood” for Iran, expressing full support for the country’s defense efforts.
He noted that millions of Iranians have signed up for a volunteer initiative, though he did not provide details about the program or when it was launched.
The remarks come as the conflict, which began on February 28, continues, with the United States and Israel carrying out strikes on Iran, while Tehran responds with missiles and drones targeting Israel.
Iran has also targeted what it describes as U.S. interests in Arab countries, with some attacks causing casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure—actions that have been condemned by the affected states.
