Costa Rica Receives First Group of Migrants Deported from the United States

Costa Rican authorities announced that the country has received the first group of migrants deported from the United States under an agreement signed between the two countries in March.

The General Directorate of Migration and Foreign Affairs said the group consists of 25 migrants from several countries, including Albania, Cameroon, China, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Kenya, and Morocco.

The move is part of bilateral efforts to manage irregular migration flows, as the United States faces growing pressure over its immigration policies.

Officials did not provide further details regarding the migrants’ status or the duration of their stay in Costa Rica.
