Netanyahu: Global Coalition to Disarm Hamas Unlikely, Israel May Act Alone

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that forming an international coalition to disarm Hamas in Gaza would be difficult, suggesting that Israel may have to act on its own.

According to Israel’s i24 News, Netanyahu told members of the security cabinet that U.S. President Donald Trump’s failure to build a coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz highlights the challenges of forming a similar alliance against Hamas.

He added that Trump “understands that Hamas will not surrender its weapons,” describing the idea of an international coalition to dismantle the group’s arsenal as “less realistic.”

Netanyahu indicated that Israel may be compelled to take unilateral action, hinting at potential military options in Gaza.
