Russian opposition outlet Mediazona reported that authorities in Moscow detained and questioned around 40 Israelis upon their arrival at Domodedovo Airport, citing allegations related to the war with Iran.
According to the report, the passengers arrived on a flight from Tel Aviv, with some holding dual Israeli-Russian citizenship, and were held in what were described as “harsh” conditions.
Sources said security officers asked the passengers to unlock their phones, but they refused, prompting authorities to later require them to switch off their devices.
The report added that during questioning, some detainees were told that Iran is a strategic ally of Russia and that “Iran’s enemy is Russia’s enemy,” and that their visit to Moscow was unwelcome.
