A U.S. Department of Defense official denied any terrorist link to the disappearance of two American soldiers in southwestern Morocco.

The official suggested they may have fallen into the ocean during participation in the “African Lion” military exercises. U.S. and Moroccan forces continue joint search and rescue operations, while the circumstances remain under investigation.
