The “Global Steadfastness Fleet” departed from the Turkish Mediterranean city of Marmaris in a new attempt to break the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, with the participation of 54 ships carrying activists and supporters from several countries.

The maritime initiative aims to deliver humanitarian aid and messages of solidarity to Gaza residents amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis and worsening living conditions.

The fleet is expected to face strict measures from Israeli authorities, amid international calls to ensure the safety of participants and avoid intercepting the vessels in international waters.
