The Moroccan Royal Armed Forces and the U.S. military announced the recovery of the body of a missing American soldier near a rocky cliff in the Cap Draa area of southern Morocco, following intensive search operations after two soldiers went missing during military exercises earlier this month.
Moroccan authorities stated that the body was recovered on May 12 from a coastal cave located approximately 500 meters from the disappearance site, in coordination with U.S. forces.
The U.S. military confirmed that the soldier, Maria Simon Collington, served in an air defense unit, noting that more than 1,000 personnel participated in the search operation.
