Morocco’s women’s national team secured a place in the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after defeating South Africa 2-1, earning qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil for the second consecutive time.

Sakina Ouzraoui opened the scoring for Morocco in the 45th minute, before Hanan Ait El Haj added a second from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute.

Thembi Kgatlana pulled one back for South Africa in the 67th minute, but goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi preserved Morocco’s lead until the final whistle.
