The Yemeni government announced the signing of an agreement with the Houthis in what is being described as the largest detainee exchange deal in the history of the conflict, involving the release of 1,728 detainees from both sides following negotiations held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
Yahya Kazman, deputy head of the government negotiating team, said the agreement includes the release of detainees from coalition forces, the army, security services, and popular resistance groups, in addition to politicians and media figures.
The Houthis confirmed their commitment to the principle of “all for all,” noting that the deal included 1,100 detainees from their side.
Jordan and the United Nations welcomed the agreement, describing it as an important humanitarian step toward easing tensions.
