The Sudan Founding Alliance “Tasis” accused the Sudanese army and authorities in Port Sudan of detaining a humanitarian aid convoy consisting of around 160 trucks belonging to the World Food Programme in the city of Al-Dabbah in northern Sudan.
The alliance stated that the convoy was carrying more than 6,000 tons of relief supplies designated for conflict zones, describing the obstruction of its delivery as the use of humanitarian aid as a weapon of war.
The group called on the international community to pressure all parties to ensure the passage of aid and lift restrictions imposed on humanitarian operations.
