Delcy Rodríguez Says Maduro’s Removal Put Venezuela on the “Right Path”

Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez said on Monday that the removal of former president Nicolás Maduro placed the country on the “right path,” describing the development as a major turning point in Venezuela’s history.

Rodríguez assumed power after Maduro was arrested during a U.S. military operation in Caracas in January, ushering in a new political era marked by the reopening of the economy to private investment and foreign business interests.

Speaking at an event in Caracas, Rodríguez praised the restoration of diplomatic relations with the United States, saying that January 3, 2026, represented a fundamental shift in both national politics and Venezuela’s approach to international relations.

Addressing international guests, she said that few could have imagined a post-Maduro era at the same time last year and argued that the past six months have demonstrated that the country is moving in the right direction.

She also stressed that remaining disputes between Venezuela and the United States could be resolved through diplomatic channels.
