FIFA has announced a 15% increase in financial allocations for national teams participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, bringing the total distribution to $871 million, up from the previously announced $727 million.
The decision was made during a FIFA Council meeting held in Vancouver, one of the host cities for the tournament, which will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026, featuring 48 teams for the first time in the competition’s history.
FIFA stated that the increase reflects the tournament’s strong financial success. Preparation grants will rise from $1.5 million to $2.5 million, while participation fees will increase from $9 million to $10 million.
In addition, teams will receive extra support exceeding $16 million to cover delegation expenses and increased ticket allocations, as part of efforts to enhance participation conditions and overall competitiveness on the global stage.
