Leaders of the Group of Seven concluded their summit in Évian, France, with broad agreement on key issues including increased military support for Ukraine, regulation of artificial intelligence, and stronger protections for minors online.
French President Emmanuel Macron, the host of the summit, praised what he described as a united stance among G7 leaders despite recent differences on several international issues.
The leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States pledged to intensify pressure on Russia’s war economy while expanding military assistance to Ukraine through additional air defense systems, interceptor missiles, and long-range capabilities.
They also agreed to support the licensed production of air defense systems and long-range missiles on Ukrainian territory as part of efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s defense industry and military readiness.
On digital policy, the participating countries reached a consensus on protecting minors online, including support for restricting access to social media platforms for users under the age of 15 or 16 as part of broader child safety measures.
