The Houthi Movement announced on Monday, June 8, 2026, a complete ban on Israeli maritime navigation in the Red Sea.

In a statement, the group declared that all Israeli movements in the Red Sea would be considered military targets for its armed forces from the moment of the announcement.

The movement also claimed responsibility for a missile attack against Israel, stating that a volley of missiles targeted what it described as sensitive sites in the area of Jaffa.
